Designed by Ted McAnlis, the award-winning Waterlefe Golf Club & course is the only community amenity open to the public. On top of an exceptional golf experience with five unforgettable holes that border the Manatee River, the Club features a Pro Shop full of equipment and stylish apparel, and the Sunset Grille restaurant for casual dining & drinks after a day of fun on the course. 

The Golf Club and all public property within Waterlefe is managed and operated by the Community Development District (CDD), and therefore Golf Memberships are separate from / not included in Resident-Membership (MPOA & River Club). At The River Club, every event is a special event.

This freshly-updated, intimate, Members-only amenity offers both refined and relaxed dining experiences and is open Wednesday through Sunday for dining. Whether you’re savoring chef-inspired cuisine, enjoying attentive, personalized service, or taking in views of breathtaking sunsets over the Manatee River, every visit is designed to be memorable. The River Club also offers a thoughtfully curated calendar of monthly special events, activities, and excursions that bring our community together in style.

 The River Club’s poolside Tiki Bar delivers the perfect dose of laid-back Florida charm and is open every Saturday & Sunday. Here, you can sip, snack, and socialize with friends and guests while enjoying the sunshine, the water, and the company of neighbors. 

The River Club amenity also houses:

• The MPOA Offices (ground floor, open M-F)
• Fitness Center (ground floor, features a variety of cardio & weight training equipment, open 24-7)
• Fitness Studio (ground floor, a variety of classes offered weekly)
• Locker Rooms (ground floor, with showers & other conveniences)
• Community Library (ground floor, managed by volunteer residents)
• Community Pool (ground floor, heated, lanes for laps, lounge area, and more)
• The Pointe (behind The River Club, featuring nature viewing areas, kayak racks & launch area, children's playground, and more)

River Club Memberships & Amenity Access:

• Waterlefe Resident-Members (homeowners & registered guests) enjoy exclusive access to ALL River Club amenities & services with no restrictions (includes regular dining, special events & activities, Tiki Bar, use of the Pool, Fitness Center & Studio, Library, Locker Rooms etc.). Reservations are required (except at the Bar & Tiki Bar) for most dining & entertainment events and will open to Resident-Members first. Some restrictions may apply to Tenant Members (property lessees).
• Non-Resident Culinary Memberships:
  • Full Culinary Membership: This limited offering is designed for and exclusively available to non-resident candidates who are sponsored by a current Waterlefe Resident or Waterlefe Golf Member. If a sponsor is not identified, a personal interview may be required prior to acceptance by a Board Member of the Association. Priveleges include access to The River Club's culinary amenities only, plus issuance of a River Club membership card and account priveleges with a valid credit card on file. Members can enjoy a la carte dining in the River Club's Bistro, Bar, and other dining rooms, may enjoy the Tiki Bar, and are eligible to attend all special events (excludes access to / use of Pool, Fitness Center, etc.). Reservations are required (except at the Bar & Tiki Bar). Fees: A one-time, non-refundable $500 Capital Contribution, due at the time of enrollment. 
  • Reciprocal Golf Culinary Membership is an additional option available exclusively to current Waterlefe Golf Members who wish to enhance and extend their dining privileges within the community. Priveleges include access to The River Club's culinary amenities only, plus issuance of a River Club membership card and account priveleges with a valid credit card on file. Members can enjoy a la carte dining in the River Club's Bistro, Bar, and other dining rooms, and may enjoy the Tiki Bar (excludes access to special events & activities, Pool, Fitness Center, etc.). Reservations are required (except at the Bar & Tiki Bar). Fees: There is no fee associated with this upgrade for current Waterlefe Golf Members.

Waterlefe's unbeatable location on the Manatee River offers stunning scenery and Gulf access for endless water recreation activities like boating, fishing, kayaking, and paddling. 

Residents have 3 options for boating access. Each provides private dockage with access to the Manatee River:

• A Home with a Private Dock: There are over 100 homes with direct water access located in Waterlefe. A home on the freshwater canals or in The Shores neighborhood will offer you a private dock or the ability to install one that you own. These docks are included with the property when sold. Some homes in The Shores are directly on the Manatee River. 
• The Cove Marina with a Deeded Slip: The Cove Marina is a private marina that resides in the freshwater canal at the circle where Fish Hook Cove and Waterlefe Blvd intersect. All 13 slips are deeded property as a condo. 
• The Waterlefe Marina Club Equity Membership: The Waterlefe Marina Club is a private residential marina located directly on the Manatee River. All 59 slips and lifts are owned by the Club. The Club only offers equity memberships purchased through the Club with an approved application for membership. Members are assigned a slip for their exclusive use. The Club does not sell slips, only memberships. The Club leases the location of the docks from the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Access from the canal to the Manatee River is through the private Boat Lift near The River Club, managed by the MPOA. 

There is no public dockage, access, or launch capability for any motorized vessel type within the Waterlefe community, and public fishing (or any type of trespassing) is prohibited and can be reported by residents to local law enforcement, and then to the CDD via the Gate House. The nearest public access for boats and personal watercraft is at Fort Hamer Park, located 1 mile upriver from Waterlefe.
